wölkli Mail allows you or your business to securely access, send, receive and store your encrypted e-mails via your desktop computer, smartphone or tablet device from all around the world. Here is a non-exhaustive list of wölkli Mail's main features.
Your e-mails are stored encrypted on our mail servers (and even in the mail queue), using the Advanced Encryption Standard (AES 256), to ensure that nobody —including us— can read their content, except of course yourself.
Your e-mails are stored securely in Switzerland, in our modern and self-owned ISO/IEC 27001-certified data centre. The same goes for your e-mail back-up copies.
Two-factor authentication (2FA) provides additional protection to your account against unauthorized access, by requesting both a password and a TOTP key (Time-based One-Time Password) in order to log in.
Every communication to and from our servers via the Internet is secured, thanks to the Transport Layer Security (TLS) protocol, also known as Secure Socket Layers (SSL). In addition, wölkli Mail uses OpenBSD, one of the most secure operating systems, to host your encrypted e-mail.
Make use of the PGP encryption standard, in order to send, receive and sign encrypted e-mails. Easily generate a new pair of PGP keys on wölkli Mail's user interface or use your existing pair of keys.
As your e-mails are encrypted with your own private encryption key, neither we nor anyone else can have access to their content. Furthermore, we do not share with third-parties any personal information that you provide us with.
Your incoming e-mails are scanned against a constantly-updated malware database, using state-of-the-art open-source antivirus software, in order to protect your devices against viruses, trojans etc.
Thanks to our modern and strong anti-spam filter protection, your inbox will be less cluttered with unwanted e-mails.
We do not show you advertisements nor are we planning to do so in the future. Ever. We do not analyse your e-mail contents to send you personalised advertisements.
Access your wölkli Mail account via your desktop, laptop, tablet, or smartphone, using wölkli Mail's mobile-friendly web interface.
Save the e-mail addresses of your contacts, as well as additional details, such as phone numbers and web pages, in the webmail address book.
wölkli Mail uses the Sender Policy Framework (SPF), so that your e-mail address is less likely to be spoofed.
We use Domain Name System Security Extensions (DNSSEC) on all our domains, in order to protect your account against DNS spoofing, including man-in-the-middle (MITM) attacks.

With PRO wölkli Mail accounts, you have access to telephone support during working hours and e-mail support 24/7.
wölkli Mail integrates with your desktop or mobile e-mail client and allows you to easily send and receive e-mails using the IMAP and SMTP protocols over STARTTLS. For some e-mail clients, such as Thunderbird, your account can even be automatically configured.
You can add unlimited server-side e-mail filters, using the standard Sieve filter. Creating a filter is as simple as specifying one or more conditions and an action to be applied to your incoming e-mails.
This is an especially useful feature if you already own a personal or corporate domain name that you would like to use with the wölkli Mail infrastructure.
Synchronise your wölkli Mail address book with a remote address book, using the CardDAV protocol. As an example, you can easily keep in sync your contacts between your wölkli Mail and your wölkli Cloud Storage accounts.
